Just in: Extraordinary statement from Bloomberg News Editor-In-Chief John Micklethwait about Bloomberg’s coverage plans of Mike Bloomberg’s candidacy: Bloomberg Editorial board suspended, no “investigation” of Mike, his family or foundation:pic.twitter.com/afjsHDQg0d

One add here: Seven journalists from Bloomberg Opinion, including the two top editors, @davidjshipley and @TimOBrien, will join Mike Bloomberg’s campaign, company says. Unclear what their roles will be. Shipley is a former speechwriter for Bill Clinton.

Also, the admission that Bloomberg Opinion until now was a direct reflection of Mike's views.

Who’s views did you think Bloomberg reflected in their op/eds? All owners of media reserve this privilege. That’s why they’re private enterprises. It’s no different at WSJ, NYT, WP, LAT, etc. Owners &the publishers they hire use their op/ed sections to influence. It’s a business.

There should be considering his appearance in Jeffrey Epstein’s little black book and his seemingly close relationship with him and Ghislaine Maxwell.

That will reassure the moderate conservatives Bloomberg needs to win.

Read the last part of the message. They say "don't investigate any Dem candidate" to be fair, and if any other news orgs publish investigative stories on Bloomberg then they will cover those. FOXnews would not have that type of policy.

But they won't investigate any of the other candidates either. So... I guess at least equal treatment? Still seems odd.
