Fuck yeah. Maybe greed helped pushing some developments forward but it is science and technique (implementation) what takes people out of poverty.

You don't understand. People are just as greedy with or without capitalism. Capitalism is when they have to create value for others to get rich and are accountable if they create nuisances instead. Politics is when they get rich by victimizing others.

I don't think people are greedy, but instead, afraid-of-not-having. And I also think that today we can actually produce enough of many things, to end scarcity on a growing number of things. This will be more evident with ultra efficient automated manufacture and no salaries

People without capitalism were and are starving. Talk about "afraid of not having". Capitalism already accounts for the relative scarcity of things. That's why running water, formerly a luxury, is cheap, but spots on a zero-gravity flight, a new luxury, aren't.

Price control creates gluts and shortages. If you are immune to both economic reasoning and historical evidence, you can't claim to actually care about what happens to people.

No, capitalism (sadly) just deals with money flows. Our problems today are beyond putting money to solve something, we actually need to deal with actual resources beyond the monetary value. We need a real "economy", not a money market

Putting in another way, the externalities are not a defect on capitalism but actually a feature of it. Somehow, (I say, with higher variety data) we should make the system to deal with them. Probably injecting more data that are weighted together with pure money flows.
