I don't understand how Nick Szabo reconciles his statist conservativism with his cryptoanarchism. Has anyone made sense of that?

Mostly found in his replies and retweets to nationalistic Trump-supporting stuff. It's seems totally inconsistent with his crypto-related anti-authoritarian thoughts.

Thinking about this some more I'm inclined to chalk it up to a case of "hoppeans gonna hoppe". It's not a stretch for that type of libertarian to support Trump's policies, with reservations. I also see avowed left anarchists support politicians that of course use coercive means.

He posted "If we don't have a border, there is no such thing as being an American." It's wildly inaccurate (historically) and (to my thinking) no argument against expunging borders, but it's not my opinion that matters here.
