Arguing for voting is agreeing that political coercion is legitimate. But voting isn't. Just like arguing in favor of taxes is claiming that taxes are legitimate, but paying them isn't. You're just acting as best you can considering the threat of violence.

I agree that the act of voting is not coercion. As I have written in http://selfsip.org/focus/politicalvoting.html … political voting is the sending of a message - that the use of coercion is acceptable to the voter. The exception is where a "NO" vote reduces or eliminates Gov/State use of force.

Paying taxes - individually optimized for minimizing risk of Gov/State coercion to the payee - is usually in one's wide view long range best interest. Remain at liberty to continue mutually voluntary interactions including spreading info. :)
