The Aberfan disaster was brilliantly portrayed in #TheCrown Aberfan is 10 minutes where I used to live and my grandparents remember the disaster vividly. I do like how the show highlights the corruption from the political class with the sorrow not anger from the community.pic.twitter.com/SuL0s5oxyR
After losing all those children , Its impossible to imagine how terrible it would have been for the families in particular the parents. The grave scene in the show was incredibly moving and that wide shot where it shows the burial and the site of the disaster was so powerful!
Powerful episode. Had never heard of the disaster. Those poor families.
I’ve visited the graves of all those that were lost, where the school was is now a memorial park. It was very moving being there, if my memory serves me correctly, all the mothers who lost their child that say meet up once a week and still do to this day. Very sad!
Watching the #AberfanDisaster episode now & I like many have never heard of this

I remember it clearly, even though I was only 6 at the time and living across the valley. Don’t think anyone from the Valleys who was present on that day will ever forget :-(
