Here's a nifty thing, the 1973 Bell System Vehicle Graphics Manual complete with rules for colors, symbols, logo placement, and super cool depictions of vintage Bell-branded vehicles.

"Metaverse" was a compelling idea in 1992, when it was the context for the novel "Snow Crash." Three decades later, a thing called "metaverse" is proposed as a massive grift.

Throwback - SNET was a peer to peer "shadow Internet" created by Cuba's citizens that connected thousands of nodes & used couriers to run/sell content that made its way into the country:

Unless I break something while working on improvements, this should be working again. Had to rebuild it, but it is much more robust!

I already see some books that are better suited to other sections, and I'm sure this will change over time as I mix in my other books, but it's good to see some of these next to one another for the first time. (3/3)

Second pic is hacker history/new cyberpunk diy followed by infrastructure/internet history/vintage hacker abatement. Third pic is dotcom-boom/computers are bad/how our successful 90s company started, and fiction/vintage comms and radio/electronics repair. (2/3)

Trying to organize some of my in a way that sort of makes sense. First pic has a shelf of mostly O'Reilly/security/network books, then hippie/futurist/cybernetics/vr, then early 2000s hacking/programming/vintage unix. (1/2)

PCVR Issue #1 is online for the first time! This is likely one of the oldest magazines to explore from a hobbyist/developer perspective and touches on things like the Mattel Power Glove, Sega Shutter Glasses, and REND386 for use in VR.
