In case it wasn't obvious, our Switch coldboot exploit: * Is a bootrom bug * Can't be patched (in currently released Switches) * Doesn't require a modchip to pull offhttps://twitter.com/fail0verflow/status/950003287062974465 …

Why is everyone so negative about this not being released? It’s very impressive to see the work done on the Switch! If you guys want it so bad, find it yourself. The tools are available

things like this should be kept secret until release or the scene will be hykem/team salt all over again.

Personally, I wouldn't want Wii to happen again. We found a ‘perfect’ exploit early-ish in it's lifecycle, (BootMii) but Ninty patched it because the Wii was still selling lots. If it gets released later it won't be patched like SigHax.

by saying "in currently released Switches" means thos that came with 3.0 or you mean even the latest firmware updated switch? if so i'm not updating mine anymore.

Means current hardware reversions has nothing to do with firmware has to do with one of the following CPU model, RAM chip type/brand Motherboard type etc. Its a physical/hardware flaw/exploit not software

I remember from 34C3 it was said there was something in the Tegra chip that allowed Nintendo to push bootrom patches via updates? does your exploit somehow disable/bypass the bootrom patches before they are applied?

But if it's fixable with an ipatch that would a huge waste of an exploit

The real question is, what is required to exploit the bootrom. This could still require kernel to install via software, which is currently known to only exist in 3.0.2 and lower (at least for now).

If it's released most likely won't be till either a hardware reversion release or the mod chip releases but the latter will ultimately cause a reversion release which will require checking to see if Boot ROM was corrected so ETA= Long time

This is literally the worst scene yet. Nothing but empty statements and bragging. Almost as bad as when people had to leak exploits that we now have on the wii u.
