If the preferred global mean temperature for the Earth is considered to be 15 degrees centigrade , why has this temperature only very rarely been achieved in the last one billion years (see red dots in chart below), and only then when when entering or emerging from ice ages.

If I had been successful enough to have had this comment published in the letters page of a mainstream newspaper, would you have seen it? You might get 1 in 10 letters published if lucky or influential, but 10 out of 10 Tweets. Popular/controversial views soon build a following.

Tweeters with even a few 1000 or so followers provide better expossure than many mainstream newspapers/broadcasters can provide. Tweets are immediate, uncensored, invariably published, provide feedback & followup, spur debate, refer able, copyable, brief, to the point, & free.

Because it is too small to possibly notice without careful scientific measurements

The change from night to day (24 hr cycle), or winter to summer (12 month cycle), are not regarded as climate change crises. Why should the 1000 yr climate cycle with 200 year cooling to warming events, be any different. This is just another (but longer) natural climate cycle.

If all the money, thought, blood, sweat, tears & effort that were wasted over climate change & renewable energy over the last 30 years, had gone into solving real problems (not imagined), think how much real progress could have been made. Instead we have nothing to show.

The current warming is just one of a 1000 year interglacial warming & cooling cycle. These are like seasonal climate events, not like yearly winter-summer cycles, but mega regular 1000 year cycles. We do not seem to recognise this very long-term climate regularity as natural.

The only climate catastrophy is the panic it is causing & the rash & bad decisions & policies community ignorance will produce. If it ain't broke don't fix it. It ain't broke, it's natural. Winter turning to summer is not catastrophic climate change. It is part of a natural cycle

CO2 mitigation will cause much more serious problems where none presently exist & will cripple the economy & social society at catastrophic cost in an failed attempt to save it from a non-existent problem causing unnecessary panic. We have survived this same scenario 10 times.

Climate is a non-existent problem. We're in a periodic natural heating cycle we've survived & thrived many times. CO2 is not a cause, a problem or a pollutant, but a depleting essential plant nutrient. Mitigation is unnecessary & harmful. We need more cheap fossil fuel energy

An interesting feature of this chart is not only the 1 degree/100yr warming/cooling around the peaks, but the regularly of those peaks (about every 1000 years, over 10,000yr, each lasting about 300yr, & around 2-3 degrees shift up & then down). Is something going on here?

The temperature should be 1 degree not 100 degrees. Apology.

Concern over 100 deg warming over 100 years is unfounded. Calculate the warming & cooling rates from the graphed peaks in this chart. They are all of this same order & yet the world survived 10 times. This degree of warming/cooling is normal in interglacial episodes. Get real.

This is a useful counter to those corporates promoting fossil fuel divestment. Start cutting of their access to fossil fuel-powered services. See how quick they change their minds.

It's a bit like opening the sea clocks on a non-sinking ship in order to let any non-existent water out.

More than 50% of the world’s landmass experiences extreme life-threatening climatic conditions for at least 6 months of the year. The other 50% does not. The majority of the population & life live in the warm half. Where is the global warming threat?

The preferred mean global average temperature for Earth is considered to be around 15 degrees centigrade by science. Why then has the mean global temperature for Earth been 2-3 degrees warmer than this for 95% of the last one billion years? Please explain.

We should disregard anything climate alarmists say until they get at least one "end of the world as we know it prediction", right. Until then they have no credibility. Every "end of the world" scenario, has one thing in common that not one of them has ever come true. So far.

Mass climate hysteria, aided by a compliant media, & irrational decision & policy making, are the biggest threats to the globe. The weak-minded have inherited the Earth & are about to destroy it & those who know better seem impotent. Where are the strong decisive leaders we need?
