So....are you suggesting restraining(arresting) them into those apartments because social workers and doctors cannot spend 24 hours with them.

it has to be staffed 24 hours by professionals. I wouldn't use arresting or restraining. Holding them thru a treatment program until some of them can exist on their own and then get them to permanent housing. Longer term transit shelter.

OK not an arrest, so what you're saying is if they want to leave, they should be allowed to leave?

Only if its determined by a psychologist that they can live on their own. Otherwise no, they are required to go thru a program and the services need to be available. Still cheaper than prison.

Just so you know, you admitted to be an advocate for an arrest unless proven to be a functioning human being. This will never ever pass with the Democrats. So if you want this to stop, do not vote blue.

arrest is a legal term. You can hold them for 72 hours if it's deemed they are a threat to others or themselves (legal). This is the period in which the evals are done and then if determined by a trained psychologist, the hold should be extended with treatment and then a re-eval

If they cannot live on their own which is very much a possibility with a large number of them they will be "held"/arrested/detained possibly forever according to your plan. Democrats will never vote for this practical alternative(because feelings over facts). Welcome to the GOP.

Most democrats want to be humane but also know that you can't have people on the streets. Housing + services is the compromise. Just housing w/o services is where the debate is. There is compromise to be had. Like any compromise, 60% support passes it.

You can't be humane w/o making the right decisions. Have you been to a homeless shelter? They have housing & services. What they dont have is the 3rd part that you're suggesting, Detention. This will not be had by Democrats because it blows their fake perception of being humane.

Not a homeless shelter myself but my friends have and I have visited a few mental hospital like facilities. Plus one of my closest friend was a psychologist at the Napa State Hospital for the criminally insane for a number of years. That's scary shit.

Yep, I go to shelters often. Its a tragedy. Life can be rough at times even in this great country.
