New: multiple sources—this isn’t the first time Facebook has fired employees for using company data to stalk people. Also detail some of the protections that are in place to stop this sort of thing, but security team gets less oversight than others https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/bjp9zv/facebook-employees-look-at-user-data …pic.twitter.com/OpOX2OD1Yq

So now we are going to blast Facebook for terminating employees who violate their policies? In this regard they are stricter than the NSA was.

No one is blasting them for the disciplinary action. But there is a public interest in knowing employees using company data to stalk is not a one off, and that security teams (which the recent alleged stalker was apparently in) have more freedom to move.

We have strict policies and controls that apply to everyone — including security teams. We have fired this employee.

Employees sometimes need to look at people's personal data to deal with customer support issues or fix bugs. But we have strict policy controls and technical restrictions to make sure this only happens when necessary. Employees who break these rules are always fired.

There are no exceptions. Additionally, we audit access to this data to prevent abuse.

How about explain: Messanger can access Photos stored in iPhone when allowed is Camera Access while Photos Access is switched off. Where do these pictures end up to #Analytics? And now why images & attachments in Messanger do not require other party login to view? Copy/Paste=Leak

This means you copy/paste link of image or attachment, there is no previous notification that your image can simply leak like that. Eg Google-Analytics would simply crawl all that up to Google WebCache.
