@facebook you're driving me crazy! I use FB for business and personal but on Safari I can't log in because of Let's Check Your Device for Malicious Software. TrendMicro download is only for PC, I'm on a Mac, have scrubbed it, works perfectly on Firefox on the same machine. Help!

I know what malware does. I have scrubbed my device with Housecall and Mac Clean and it’s showing clean. Plus the software you’re asking me to download is for PC only. I don’t know what else you want me to do. I can log in from Safari in my other account which makes no sense!

You are right to be suspicious, Alexia. It’s a con. Easy test: get someone else to log in on your “infected” Mac. My bet is they will have no problems. Come on, Facebook, time to stop this charade. I fell for it, not letting others become victims to your database failures.

I log in to Facebook with no issue on the SAME Mac from Safari on a different account and from Firefox into all my accounts. It's nonsense.

I agree, they have been pushing this con for a while. They never hit Mac users till recently. They do think we’re all stupid though, and goodness knows how many computers they’ve planted their spyware on to since. (It goes into a hidden directory in Windows.)

And I can log into the same account, on the same device from Firefox with no issue.
