This is Facebook equating having Infowars, which once accused a pizza shop of being part of a child sex ring and denied the Sandy Hook shooting was real, with "pages on both the left and the right pumping out what they consider opinion or analysis – but others call fake news."https://twitter.com/facebook/status/1017477222083411968 …

We see Pages on both the left and the right pumping out what they consider opinion or analysis – but others call fake news. We believe banning these Pages would be contrary to the basic principles of free speech.

Sorry you feel that way. The question we face is whether to ban a Page for peddling information debunked by fact-checkers or to demote it so fewer people see it. We’ve chosen the second. Understand that you disagree, and thanks for the feedback.

@Facebook Now you’re doing the lying. You’re not even one ounce sorry. I can literally hear Campbell Brown’s dismissive tone in this tweet. Please explain to the world how Infowars is just analysis? You have NO IDEA what 1A is about and you are FAR from any resemblance to ethics.

To be very fair unless they are calling for violence they are protected under 1st. Now for instance the Sandy Hook thing could be libel depending on how it’s worded in a post. Going down that road Time Magazine and the cover sold a false narrative.

You have freedom of speech on the internet. Here is where and this works, your speech is protected from the government which means your communities and individuals can exclude or be the “moral” arbiter. Also which of you people have ever thought of Alex Jones as news?

No the lust for money rules. Advertising is the propaganda that motivates the mark to part with their money but today also their freedom. See Eye Gaze & Eye Tracking persuasion. Then there is this:http://www.pnas.org/content/112/13/4170 …

The lust for ad revenue compels men to willingly spread propaganda that mobilizes people to take favorable action. Advertising, in all of its forms, including its sale, indeed rules the world.

Good Grief it’s not an opposing view, to say that someone’s child didn’t die in a school massacre and then call grieving Parents “crisis actors”. That’s cruel and inhumane Propaganda.

It is the epitome of “fake news” by a self admitted (in Court) Entertainer...is that what you call Entertaining. It caused those Parents more than emotional harm. Someone almost got killed at that Pizza shop..This is irresponsible.
