    I should point out that I do not think the terrible incompetent app in my screenshot is being used in Iowa. I doubt it, since the developer’s other apps contain Utah counties and specifically mention the REPUBLICAN caucus.

    You don't need a hawk to demonstrate this. The common or garden variety chicken has this too. And I believe when a pidgeon walks it bobs its head to correct for head stabilization because it head can't stay where it is forever while moving

    I read a lot of books. I enjoy myself and learn. Some people don't and find other ways to enjoy themselves and learn. Some people read just a few books. It's all good.

    In her podcast the-ungrind mentions that reading books shouldn't be primarily about achievement. It shouldn't be another metric of the rat race, like social media likes (or my silly 2019 followers).

    Maybe I am missing something. I don't want to say it is never wise to separate these roles. But much software is built with small teams with quite a few generalists on them.

    I think having a separate frontend is a great way to separate concerns but I separate concerns in code all the time without separating people.

    I am a web developer. I am not a frontend or backend engineer. I mentor people to do both. It baffles me to consider or the other as superior. I think many of the interesting challenges are exactly where frontend and backend meet.

    More software writing should be like this: Presents patterns by example, discusses their trade offs, shares opinions based on first hand experience. Simple and practical.

    When I say create frameworks when you build an app I do mean frameworkS. By all means don't start from scratch and build on existing frameworks. Then build more multiple modest frameworks to help you. 1/n
