The Democrats need to stop assuming they are just entitled to peoples votes and put forth candidates that inspire people and are worth voting for. Until that happens they are in trouble and unfortunately I think they party leaders have yet to understand what is going on.

Republican evangelicals never take their eyes off the ball. They have won at every level of government. They fight, they complain, they are frequently uncivil and have to settle. But they always show up and vote.
-
It’s the one fact that progressives can’t seem to get into their heads. It’s reached the point where it’s actually amusing how shocked the millennials, non-voters, Stein voters, etc. will be when the decades-long reality of Trump’s
#scotus sinks in. -
Frankly I don’t see how you could not objectively say that evangelical republican voters are smarter than Jill Stein voters.
-
They are definitely more focused and strategic.
-
Is that what you're hoping for? A Democrat party where people vote for corrupt incompetent child molesters like Roy Moore just because they're "on our side"? We might as well stop having democratic elections at that point.

What's the difference? "Our" corruption is better than theirs? There are Democrats voting with Trump/against the ADA etc. Not really interested in voting for them just because they have a D next to their name.

Exactly. The immature, tunnel visioned "Bernie or no one" or "both are bad so I will withhold my vote this year" will now show its effects for decades, maybe longer.
-
I have bad news - I don't owe anyone my vote. You want it, what are you going to give me in return?
-
A irrational approach to middle ground and compromise have left us with Donald Trump and a Republican house and senate. Tradeoffs are inherent in democracy. "No" votes and non-voting had a consequence. A consequence I personally find intolerable and now will affect us for decades
-
What are you offering me for my vote
-
A country that is lead by people who share a vast more number of values with you than the current administration does...at least that I can guess from your support for Bernie.
-
what are you offering me besides vague platitudes. These Democrats are corrupt to the core and stand for nothing.
-
Pretty sure she was offering a legislature not committed to tax cuts... an executive not committed to deregulation....and a judiciary not interested in union busting. What are you not processing Fish?
-
All I'm getting is a bunch of "not this", "not that." I want to vote FOR something - $15 min wage, Medicare For All, free college, end the wars - that kind of stuff.

In 2016, a SCOTUS seat was on the ballot and some prominent "progressives" advocated for/preferred Trump over Hillary.Don't give them a pass.pic.twitter.com/jwT9sicyVw

Yup. Hope they enjoy their service to Gilead.

It should be much easier to vote, and it's even more difficult to do so today than in 2014.
-
And will continue to be increasingly more difficult if those that want it that way continue to be elected. VOTING IS A RIGHT that is more sacred than any other.
-
We can do things to help it be easier. Appealing to employers: support a healthy democracy, allow employees flexibility to vote w/o penalty. Fund trips to DMVs + ID fees, organize rides to polls, etc. Not everyone's circumstances boils down to a choice not to vote.
-
There are many things that could be done.
-
There are many things that could be done, and they will only be done if we vote for the legislators who will write that legislation. VOTE like all of that depends on it, because if f'ing does.
