Lol. They still see their political targets as being racist SUV mom's from affluent suburbs.

Who won’t vote for Democrats anyway
-
Yeah, it seems like bad strategy to hinge your electoral prospects on country club members, who snap their fingers at brown waiters and think that hip hop is why black people struggle in American society, being disgusted by Trump's racism but what do I know?
-
The problem is that American government, especially in the Senate, is set up to over-represent white people and underrepresent non-white people.
-
How so? Definitely true in the House, but you can’t gerrymander state lines (as far as I know)

Interesting quote to pull out of context to get us going. I hope everyone who gets pissed at that quote, like I did, will read the article not just your version of a headline.
-
I did read the article. It's even worse than the quote suggests.
-
Worse that we have to protect Red State Dems or lose even more in the Senate? Yea. That’s horrible.
-
Worse that we live in a country with an antiquated political system with no real opposition to the rightward drift towards greater xenophobia, poverty and corporate control.
-
Precisely why we must be willing to protect red state Dems. Recent studies show 70% of Americans will be living in 15 states by 2040. Think about that, 70% of Americans will be represented by 30% of the Senate.
-
You're more worried about protecting red state Dems' electoral chances in 10 months than Dreamers' livelihoods now? Cool seems reasonable

Yes, this is how the Democratic Party has operated since the Clintons took over. Maybe before then, too, but my memory is a little dim this morning.

Worth noting that Schumer doesn't do that, either.

This is why we desperately need a third major party, because 40% of Americans don't make enough money to be considered middle class, and our group grows every year. And yet we have essentially no voice or representation in government :/
-
And when no one has a majority, or the kakistocracy squeaks by with 1% of the vote, what then? Don't assume that "the middle class" will vote in a bloc, because it won't. The answer is not to split into ineffectual factions, but forcibly retire the current party leadership.
-
I'd be fine with a Dem party who gave a crap about low-income ppl too. But if not terrible politicians are ever in power again, I'd prefer a move toward a 3+ party system. The idea that 2 parties (both owned by corporations) can represent the diversity of the US pop is ridiculous

The fight for the mythical center continues for the Dems...
