So there’s (a little) something to be said for private firms performing public services: they’ll sue whack job media networks pushing insane conspiracy theories

The only part that is wrong is Smartmatic. Interesting they didn't try to get on the program themselves ir dispute it on Twitter or FB. They just sued quietly. Hmmm

Yeah, but he repeated "Clinton," "Soros," "Chavez," "Venezuela," along with the company names a few times, so it's a win for Newsmax... their viewers just heard those false connections again (confirmation bias). It won't change anything they desperately want to believe.

the problem with launching conspiracy theories - once they’re out there, it’s hard to get that genie back in the bottle. All their viewers will now think this retraction is part of the wider conspiracy
