Subsidies are hardly the story. The United States government has invest more money into Telsa than you have, by far. You sold off the government shares to the private sector to "repay" the half a billion loan to keep the public from having a voting share. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-hy-musk-subsidies-20150531-story.html … https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/995028864672788480 …

"government pays for it but you take a cut" - like anyone else who sells anything to the government. Contractors building schools, and whatnot. SpaceX is cheaper than NASA, saving govt money. SolarCity & Tesla give cleaner air and reduces climate change. Gods forbid...

Did that villain also help lower the cost for said government to launch satellites? Let's not forget, before
@SpaceX the cost of launching a satellite was over 400 millions. Now one reads numbers as low as 60 million$. Talk about payback! -
There are also now concerns with exploitation of labor, depreciation of cost over time, mass production reducing prices, more advanced technology, etc. Trying to make this into a one-dimensional issue is exactly how libertarians miss the point of this post in the first place lol

You’re right. Let’s not use tax incentives to promote clean energy. Let’s have space cost 10 times as much and be available only to several astronauts at a time. I don’t care about socialism or capitalism, I care about problem solving.

And the post was addressing hypocrisy. No one is demonizing subsidies. Everyone hates a hypocrite.

Hmm here was me thinking the government were contracting out. It’s almost as if governance privatises, not business. Don’t like it? Go campaign for a better government you twit.

Why is it a problem that the government is a customer? Their money is just as good as anyone's. I don't follow your point...

There isn’t necessarily anything wrong with profiting from the government as long as the services rendered benefit the public. But that isn’t libertarian so
