Ideas are the enemy. Thoughts. But to criminalize thoughts is evil. The only hope to beat bad thoughts is with better thoughts. And if we can convince ourselves it's worth the effort and not give in to despair. A decision, I believe. Free will is in our imagination, imo.

So-called hate speech (i.e., emotion policing) is such a Nazi notion anyways: "Your feelings are wrong, wrong, wrong! Hate is evil! So you must be Satan! Our Christian society should not have to tolerate such blasphemic vocal misconduct! But, well, the Gestapo has its methods..."

People have called me a Nazi. In Michel Foucault's Dank Meme Stash on FB, I cautioned them about shooting first and asking later. Someone countered with, "I will always shoot unemployed Nazi moms first and ask later."

My favorite thing about the people who ask this question on Twitter at least is that 95% of the time if you click through to their profile it takes 5 seconds to find their tweets about throwing all Jews in gas chambers or whatever
