When we talk about excessive wealth disparity, we should ask simply: what is money? What is $100 billion dollars? It is the power to, at a whim, hire one million people and have them spend their lives doing whatever you ask them, for three years. That is more power than Kings.
The question isn't just why one person should be so much wealthier than others, but why should one person be able to dictate the labor of millions? By what right?

I think a problem is that when the issues are pointed out, people can feel like the only alternative is a system of government that they believe to be worse. We can make laws that empower workers. It doesn't have to be all or nothing of the major political structures.

It’s a voluntary exchange that makes all involved better off. Why are teacher pensions etc. managed?
How about why any person, of any intelligence, work ethic or with any idea, should be able to make millions a year or thousands an hour to accumulate the type of wealth needed to control millions of people both directly and indirectly?
