Wealth disparity has never been higher, but remember the second half of that sentence: power disparity has never been higher. The people have less power than ever.

Inversely, the lobby of a rich man can make my neighboors and I lose our homes and there is nothing my arrows and sword can do against police in riot gear and armored vehicles! That's a lot of power. Also, I don't really have arrows and swords.

It is difficult to say that; sure, money allows to take power, but it isn't power itself. In times there people didn't have much power they took more power, or thought they did it; Trump, Hitler, Lenin or the paris commune(radicals, don't equate) werent wanted by the ruling class
