Sustainable change changes the environment, so that it amplifies wanted actions and obstructs unwanted actions. This can be done by strict control or checks and bounds but this will just move power to control. Better to decentralize, encourage participation & create transparency.

Also, you’re entire take doesn’t make any sense and ignores any society power change or progress humans have made. Like, did the power vacuum of not having chattel slavery cause an equally as bad power system to be put in its place? No.

And I used monarchy as an example because that’s what you implied. That changing or eliminating certain power structures doesn’t make any difference, when it clearly does, hence the fact that we’re no longer a monarchy and clearly better off.

I agree, but what the hell is your point? Like, I can give you very specific examples of how changing power dynamics did and could radically change the outcomes. Are you suggesting I’m saying if we change our systems, everything will be perfect and nothing will go wrong?

Any group, whether large or small, will develop social norms. Those who flout the group's norms will be denigrated; this is an exercise of power that can inhibit the agency of nonconformists. So unless we all completely agree and adopt the same norms this dynamic will be at play
