From my experience with philosophy at least 1/3 of the work consists of getting drunk. We can see evidence of this dating back to the Symposium. We can only speculate the philosophical breakthroughs Socrates would have made had he and his contemporaries partaken in shower brews.
What philosophical thesis most changed how I live? Well, I don't know if it's "philosophical" per se, but probably when I realized you could drink beer in the shower.
