Well if you really listen to the song in Paint Your Wagon about the struggles of the proletariat over the avaricious greed of the capitalist and monopolistic forces of the railroad industry ,I think you'd see things differently.
The Western genre captures the American essence perfectly. It's usually like six guys all trying to kill each other over $300, while ignoring the social forces that made them poor to begin with.
