What's worse, is that whether we're left or right probably has a genetic basis, one that influences our temperament. Our choice for one side is less rational than we would like to think. It's more of an instinctive/ emotional response. Like extroversion/ introversion.

So arguing about left or right is like arguing about whether we should be more extro/ introvert, prefer science or art etc. A lot of it is down to temperamental differences shaped by genes.
