. It is time for the socialist solution: if the internet infrastructure is a neutral public carrier of data, it needs to be publicly owned by the cities. Comcast should not be regulated, Comcast should be destroyed.

But businesses will forever try to reverse public ownership as well. That's just as bound to fail as anything else.
Except there won't be any big businesses left to try to reverse...that's the whole point. Comcast can't lobby the government if they don't exist.

Comcast lobbied for it, but other companies lobbied against it. The decisive factor was conservative ideology.
