Obvious points: 1. Female leads have basically not increased since the 50s. 2. No year has ever had more than 25% female majority movies.

Why did you exclude romance? Seems like you're trying to fit the data to a theory

I think you should have excluded historical movies about wars where women didn't fight as well to have better data.

It's clearly increased. It looks like it's doubled. But it's also pathetically inadequate given where it started.
