"Freedom" is freedom for capital. Opening/liberating markets doesn't mean that labor can go anywhere and do anything, it means capital can.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you figure out that "freedom" means "that which is good for corporate interests".

To be fair that's more "American political rhetoric." In everyday US politics, freedom's more about "making others adhere to my beliefs."

Also, more "large, organized interest groups" than just "corporations"--but there's only so much accuracy you can stuff in 140 characters.
