Leftists do it just as much btw. It's easy to convince yourself you're fighting for justice when you are really just fighting a culture war.
People have this weird idea that other cultures developed from chaotic, random forces, but their culture came from pure transcendent reason.

Problem isn't lack of reason per se, but too short time horisons. With 100-year horisons our choices would be different. Even that is short.
