One thing that is amusing to me is that if Hilary Clinton were president for COVID-19 we'd be absolutely fucked. She'd tell people to stay at home and half the country would gather in groups out of spite, because they'd think it was a liberal plot to take their guns or whatever.

Yeah but they might theoretically listen to Trump. They would never, ever, ever listen to Hilary Clinton telling them to not leave their house. Whereas liberals won't think the virus is a conservative conspiracy in the same way.

With or without this crisis Americans will still be dying becsuse, healthcare is treated as a privilege not a right. The profit driven privatised nature of the US healthcare system ensures 68,000 Americans die yearly and a further 500k declare bankruptcy.

1 in 5 can't afford prescription drugs 87 million are underinsured or uninsured 44% avoid seeing a doctor because, they cannot afford it This healthcare system is more concerned about enriching drug and insurance companies rather than providing good quality care to all.

It's a matter of degrees - it'd be like the entire right wing including FNC pushing "social gathering" rallies until they got hit with massive sweeps of the disease, then it'd still be like half claiming this is all their Soros FEMA plot and raid more gov't buildings.

She too would be first to bail out corporations and banks, while letting the masses fight for crumbs.

She might have urged people to stay home, pressured governors, given voice to real info, but not ordered -- liberal lawyers mostly say the feds lack that authority. The tweet reminds me of accelerationist arguments, which I don't buy, & I don't buy this one for similar reasons.

Plus as an elitist technocrat, there's a genuine possibility Clinton's team would have handled the virus well. Not a guarantee by any means, but at least a possibility, unlike the current occupants of the halls of power.
