The fact that capitalism is seemingly incapable of pausing for a couple months without collapsing in on itself due to a tangled web of complex game theory problems is an indictment of capitalism, not the idea of pausing production for a couple months.

"Since we are at home, our needs are reduced". So do you suggest that we would stay that way forever, and not to get back to our lives?? And it's not "fine". The economy will not stabilize after this contraction. It will tank into a dangerous deflactionary cicle.

The economy is just a manmade set of rules. It makes no sense to say we can't choose to alter them in a crisis. If you want the germ of a creative way to approach this, see Tom Clancy's novel, Debt of Honor.

Can we just all stay at home and wait for that sweet juicy UBI ?
-
I used to think UBI was a great idea, but then someone pointed out that it is basically taxpayers subsidizing capitalists obligation to a fair wage

Are you sure it’s not a god of suffering that demands the blood of thousands? I’ve heard some conflicting reports... /s
