Like half this country would rather be cruel than admit they’re wrong.

Anyone who doesn't have one of those jobs also needs access to healthcare.

Decades, centuries even, of social conditioning that those jobs are only 'temporary' and a means for paying for education and skills training so they can eventually find a job that pays more, has a larger tax burden, and thus is 'worthy' and 'contributes more to society'.

It isn't but Capitalism has ensured that only capitalists are destined to win under the system whereas, everyone else has to toil away at work living a wretched existence and are one missed paycheck away from financial ruin.

Let me just tweak this slightly: Everyone needs to have access to healthcare, vacations, sick leave, and a living wage. That's it, that's the tweet.

Social workers, case workers, case managers, etc. also qualify as "essential for society to function."

Because capitalism.

The controversy begins when you start tweeting about how to achieve that.
