Landlords are like, "but how will I pay my mortgage if there is a rent freeze?" Perhaps by doing work at a job. But thanks for the reminder that my labor not only pays for your living, it also pays for your ownership of the very building I'm renting.

There are a lot of landlords who work regular jobs and only own one or two properties, who do depend on rents to be able to pay their mortgages, me included. The most vulnerable will be the hardest hit by lost rents, and more powerful entities will end up with our properties.

Kids who play ball in the park owe their gratitude and respect and to some degree their fun to the kid who brought his ball with him. Ownership is a contribution and a blessing, like it or not.

Most people dont realize how many landlords have inherited vast holdings of property and have literally never worked a day in their lives. Obviously not all, but I've dealt with them in my career and in some cases they didnt even understand the very concept of work.
