When billionaires say they "worked hard" to get to where they are, remember that if you added up all the work it took to create that billion, their own personal labor would be something like 0.001% of it. The rest was done by their workers. No one works for a billion dollars.

They don't work hard they work smart. New money by innovation shouldn't be demonized. Hard work is not always synonymous with value.

tell that to your bin men, or the workers in your power stations, or the nurses in your local hospital. if you want to talk about value i would say that they are much more valuable to society - why are they not earning a billion dollars?

0.001% of 150 billion is 150 million. Jeff Bezos has been doing his Amazon thing for about twenty years, suggesting that his personal labor is worth $7.5 million annually, or a wage of $3600/hr. Still seems like too much if you ask me.

Wait no, shoot, I did that wrong. 0.001% of 150 billion is 1.5 million. So that's, like, $36/hour. Much better.

Interesting that you never hear of any one-man band billionaires. They can never become billionaires without the labor of hundreds or thousands.
