The same will soon be true when describing democratic socialism, Canada's health care system, or anything not far to the right of fascism. It will not be possible to state uncontroversial, true facts without being labelled mentally ill and an enemy of the country.

Honestly, it's just the basic fact that if people feel like "they had serious flaws but ultimately also many good sides" leads to the conclusion of "well we can do better this time". And the bourgoeis doesn't want us thinking that.

I watched a YouTube of Erich Fromm in a 1960 interview explaining that his version of 20° democratic Socialism WAS NOT the USSR, (but simply establishing basic human needs) to a bewildered Mike Wallace who like current MSM could not wrap his head around the concept.
-
Fromm's "The Sane Society" is quite relevant today. Though Mike Wallace can't grasp democratic Socialism, he is still more inquisitive than the current sound bite MSM today (and Wallace was in the middle of the Cold War!) Worth the 30 min watch (IMO)https://youtu.be/OTu0qJG0NfU
