Liberals like to argue that the meritocracy doesn't exist, because billionaires had rich parents or whatever. Who cares? It's not as though having billionaires with thousands of servants to meet their every need is more moral because they were born clever, rather than rich.

Yup, but many liberals train their sites on those who are not fantastically rich but still have a very good floor for success. Arguments about the damage inequality does to opportunity and society as a result were first made by public health researchers, not Socialist Alternative
