i wanted to make a joke that it's like astrology for rich people but astrology is far more fact based and rooted in reality :)
News that will cause stocks to go up: - a minimum wage increase is struck down - employees are prevented from unionizing - corporate taxes are reduced - labor laws are relaxed The stock market is not the economy, it's an estimate of how much wealth can be extracted from workers.

Well, the stock market *is* an indicator of how rich people are doing, but it being up usually means the rich are extracting even more from the poor

That doesn't account for the fact that almost every industry does war profiteering, and plundering the natural resources of another country isn't exactly extracting wealth from workers.

I think that if you’re extracting more wealth from the workers it means that there is more wealth to begin with. And more wealth is good for both employee and employer.
I don’t think it’s as simple as implying that a high stock market is exploitation towards the workers.

The wealthy saw an increase of their wealth of roughly 20% in 2019 alone. Where's our 20% increase of salary ? Same thing for the rest of the decade.
