What's interesting about this is why the billionaire class, who have far more money than the CIA, and already own the newspapers, TV broadcasts, movie studios, and social media sites would need the CIA for a "culture war" against communism at all. Can't they do it themselves?
The answer is fairly straightforward if you remember how the CIA conducted a "culture war" last time. The CIA, being a branch of the government, is allowed to use criminal methods. Billionaires don't want to risk hiring people to plant drugs or kill people, so they need the CIA.
Always remember folks, no matter how many rainbow flags the media and corporate sector puts on their header they will jump at the chance to support another Pinochet so they can gain more access to cheap labor.
Or, maybe communism is a really bad idea for a resource rich country. If your solution to bad government is more government, then you've got some serious logical liabilities in the argument.
