Unions are band-aid capitalism. They pretend that the problems of capitalism can just be solved by collective bargaining, yet, the problems are systemic and deep, beyond anything that unions can address without creating more problems. You can't fix capitalism from within it.

This take is hotter than people know. We need to stop settling for pushing for the horse & buggy in 2019 solution of unions and start innovating in building up a body of knowledge around/expanding on Applied Socialism, worker-owned co-operatives.

Pretty much. And then you have many boomers who think younger generations just want a handout. A socialism of the sorts. We should focus on ppls basic needs.

At my job we have distribution centers all over country and 60 percent were unionized. Pay, work life balance, benefits awesome even for non union was great.Then in late 90s early 2000 a ton of decertifications of union dcs. Now its all going to hell

The bosses dont get the bribe from the workers, no? They get bonusses from the proprietors from a pot of money they get by grabbing the added value that was produced by the workers. Maybe the workers should pay the union leaders fat bonusses for successful strikes...
