I think most people, not just gamers, assume that video games are a product of capitalism. You have to have a certain degree to political education to know that games are likely to be better when produced by worker owned organizations.

Absolutely! Just look at companies like Sierra On-Line, id Software, Dynamix, Interplay, and Epic Megagames. They made some *great* games in the days before consolidation.

Capital-G Gamers identify too heavily as consumers, and have demonstrated repeatedly that they don't care if staff get screwed as long as a game meets its deadline and has 60 FPS
