Centrists are now saying the lesson from a far left candidate losing in another country is that the Democrats can't move too far left if they want to beat Trump. But apparently the lesson from a centrist losing to Trump in 2016 is...nothing. Except to try the same thing again.

The lesson is also that the conservatives 'won' with 43% of the vote because first past the post is a fundamentally broken system that keeps the corrupt in power, and that the other 57% of the country should be protesting in the street over their stolen democracy.

Well what’s the alternative? If the winner of the simple majority doesn’t get to rule and someone else does with fewer votes isn’t that more unfair?
