The lesson from Jeremy Corbyn's defeat is that the corporate media needs to be dismantled, because they'd rather see fascists run the country than have to pay their interns a living wage or have their taxes go up 5%. Democracy can't function without a democratically run media.

Worth noting that our (UK) Centrists are not yours (US) . Boris promised to build 40 new hospitals and employ 50000 extra nurses on the Government pocket. That was our right. Would be fringe left in the Democrat Party.

The lesson we should have learned in 2016 is that our electoral system is undemocratic by design and we should really fix it by abolishing the EC and adopting Ranked Choice Voting.
