Zuckerberg made his money in the exact same way, of course – by destroying an free social network. A social network was bound to emerge, what Zuckerberg did was prevent it from following open protocols, like email, so just anyone couldn't set up a server to socialize with anyone.

To say these people added value to the world and therefore "deserve" their billions is absurd. They subtracted value, an enormous amount of value, and stymied progress to seize control and extract wealth. Computers and the internet would be more advance if they had never existed.

Remember when we prosecuted Microsoft for bundling a web browser with their OS, because we were worried about letting them have that much power?
-
Remember when they lost the case and proceeded to outright ignore the court's ruling?

The open source movement was essentially delayed until 1998 because of Microsoft. Imagine how the world would be if the tech industry started as an open source, public movement to improve the lives of all humans. Now you have facebook, microtransactions, and super ads. Congrats

They literally refused to ship a working networking stack to connect to the internet until possibly windows 95. This means of you signed up and bought a modem internet didn’t work on Microsoft Windows. And even after that, they downplayed the web’s importance until MS WebTV.

For the concerned billionaire fear feeling a “pinch” under
@BernieSanders tax plan, I suggest they heed their own advice:
Get a 2nd Job
No Lattes
No iPhones
No Avocado Toast
Cut back on spending -
There seems a close relationship between their advice and symptoms of chronic depression - e.g., stop communication, stop with the little pleasures, stop going out, monotony of day in day out work around the clock, etc.
