The weird thing is, they are all calling this the stupidest, most ignorant statement ever, but none of them are even denying either premise! They are just mad because "the Soviet Union also did bad things." Okay, not exactly the point.

No lie detected, but the USSR was still a humanitarian disaster.

A good half of my former family in law in Indonesia have been kidnapped executed, their body disposed in a mass grave by milicians taking orders from the CIA. Capitalism should consider its own death toll, Isn't poor Laos the most bombed country in the history of mankind?

True, although the same applies to (private-enterprise) capitalism.

It really is crazy how little credit Americans give to the Russians for WWII. There are multiple alternate worlds in which the Germans won, and Russia was the deciding factor.

Wanna go on a headtrip, look up US propaganda films about the USSR during the war. You'll get an idea why 1984 resonated with those who went through the war.

I’m not a conservative so I don’t care about their arguments. But you do know that industrialization took “only” 20 years because the Soviets essentially deviated resources that would have gone to do stuff, like, I don’t know, feed a few million people?

Also, lol @ the claim that the Soviets defeated the Nazis “almost singlehadedly”. 1942-1943 would’ve been a strategic catastrophe for the Soviets without the Lend Lease Act and cooperation with Britain.
