Whilst the owners go: weeeee! Profit. Go on... on ya bike, learn a new skill or starve. Even though you're 55 and have done this for 35 years. Increasing productivity was supposed to benefit all. The owners of the machines took all of it for the last 30 years.

Automation can actually hurt profits in some cases because profit comes almost entirely from exploitation of workers. You can’t exploit a machine out of it’s labour value.

we are in a transition time, soon everything will be automatised and the owners will have no choices but to give away because there will no longer exist anyone with a salary.
