A similar rule of thumb: anyone accusing others of being "divisive" wants them to shut up & accept status quo. Some level of political disagreement will exist as long as more than one human is alive. (Maybe cognitive dissonance within a single human too.)

We have to find ways to live together in spite of some divisions in our beliefs, but expecting to eliminate division is absurd.
