The main idea is that there needs to be losers for winners to exist. They defend that idea by comparing life to sports games. This is a game to them and their solution is "get gud".

The weird thing is, the zero-sum view of wealth is central to mercantilism. The whole reason capitalism is supposed to work is that, through competition driving efficiency and productivity, everyone gets more pie not by getting a bigger piece, but by the pie getting bigger.
