What's the point of making higher definition TVs then?
There are two reasons someone can say that doing philosophy is useless: 1. Philosophy has been solved. 2. We shouldn't even try to understanding what exists, what morality is, and what the meaning of our lives might be, and instead just try to make higher definition TVs and shit.

I didn't think philosophy was for solving anything. I thought it was a method and process for improving the way we think about things. When progress is made, they immediately give the field another name... And forget its origins Hence the illusion that doing philosophy is useless

The only thing that one knows exists for sure is their thoughts at the present moment, even that makes the assumption that the idea of existence is a thing. Is there a name for that philosophy? And surely it negates everything?

Sounds a lot like Buddhism, but oddly while negating everything it also affirms it, in a there but not in the way you might think it is if you weren't non-thinking clearly kinda way
