Elizabeth Warren is hilarious. She's like, "yes we want a tiny number of wealthy capitalists to make all the decisions about how society is run, but gosh darn it we are going to scold them quite severely if they take advantage and do anything greedy."

She's proposed adding workers' reps to corporate boards, using a wealth tax to restart social mobility, and making service jobs more decent. I submit that there are, in fact, different kinds of capitalism. Sanders' policies are not different in kind. He's not a Marxist, either.

She is in fact an almost precise Social Democrat of the old mode (putting workers on corporate boards is taken from that history). Sanders is not much further left, though he is further left, from that tradition. Social democracy would be a damn sight better than where we are.

The people who think Liz has good ideas are the same sort of people who use the term "crony capitalism" unironically. The capitalism creates the cronyism. It's a feature, not a bug.
