Yeah, I've blocked people I generally agree with politically on social media because of their insistence on being abusive to, well, everyone who slightly or just appears to disagree with them.
A lot of people don't seem to get this, but being nasty online 24/7 is "problematic", regardless of how "correct" your opinion are. No one wants to live in the world you are creating.

Interacting with people online is still interacting with real people. People don't actually believe that, deeply. They pretend the cruelty they display affects no one.

There’s enough negativity we have to deal with on a daily basis in the world, I don’t need my time and energy wasted on people adding to that negativity. I’m trying to feel better and make others feel better.

This is a vastly understated problem. When you disagree, be civil. You can get angry, but that doesn't give you the right to treat others poorly. Like it or not, we are all in this together.
