This is from The Economist, by the way, whose brains have been so corrupted by McCarthyism that they are literally incapable of writing a sentence that implies a single good thing ever occurred in the Soviet Union. We don't have propaganda here in the free United States though.

Which is funny because I was watching Stranger Things yesterday and there was this lab of Russian scientists and it was a total sausage fest. Like westerners can't even grasp gender equality in science casually.

My experience with the job and gender role development of post soviet countries is that the old gender roles remain, women are expected to take care of the house, the kids, the man AND have a career now. Instead of treading gender roles, added work.

And I do think it’s fantastic to have gender parity in science and the workplace, but there is absolutely not gender parity in the home and personal life in Eastern Europe.
